The iconic pioneer group of merengue hip hop presents its new album titled “Back In Da House,” a production that marks a return to the original sounds and musical essence that made them an international reference.
True to its innovative style, Proyecto Uno fuses genres such as funk, disco, R&B, hip hop, and merengue in this work, creating a fresh soundtrack that connects the classic with the contemporary.
The production was led by Nelson Zapata, Gabriel Torres (Kid G), Winston De Jesús, Edwin García, Paul Ureña, and Dennis Nieves, with mixing by Raymundo (Juanchy) Tavares and mastering by Boris Milan.
The compositions were led by Nelson Zapata, Gabriel Torres, and Paolo Tondo, along with contributions from renowned authors such as Roy Tabaré, Winston De Jesús, Gerardo Rodríguez, Marcela Arciniegas, Paul Ureña, Stefano Marchetti, and Agustín Espina.
The album also features special guests: Colombian artist Jerau, the group Fulanito, and The Mad Stunt Man, who had previously collaborated with the band on historic hits like “Latinos” and “Mueve la cadera.”
“It had been a while since we released a musical production, so we decided to return to our essence without paying too much attention to current trends. I began a process of mixing old vinyl records to find the necessary inspiration and write new songs,” commented Nelson Zapata, founder of Proyecto Uno.
With “Back In Da House,” Proyecto Uno reaffirms its legacy as pioneers in the fusion of Latin and urban rhythms, while celebrating three decades of musical history with a proposal that promises to conquer new generations.
