To the beat of the iconic track “El tiburón”, Proyecto Uno celebrates its 35-year career in grand style at the Billboard Latin Music Awards. As in each of their performances, the guys got everyone in attendance dancing, delivering a euphoric finale and getting the audience to sing along to the song that put the group on the map.
“What a pleasant surprise it was to receive the invitation from the award show’s producers to celebrate our 35th anniversary by performing one of our great songs. I feel very excited, as we have won several Billboard awards, but we had never had the opportunity to sing on this magnificent stage,” said Nelson Zapata, founder of Proyecto Uno.
Some of the artists who graced this edition were: Alexa Martín, Alicia Machado, Camila Fernández, Danna, Isabella Castillo, Jacqueline Bracamontes, Kali Uchis, Lupillo Rivera, Maffio, Majo Aguilar, Mau y Ricky, Paola Jara, Pipe Bueno, Venesti, and Yahritza y Su Esencia. Among the musical performances of the night were: Fuerza Regida, J Balvin, Gloria Trevi, Grupo Niche, María Becerra, Luis Alfonso, Pepe Aguilar, Xavi, Yandel, and Proyecto Uno with a masterful closing performance.
Proyecto Uno, led by Nelson Zapata, joined by Kid G and Paolo Tondo, has been responsible for getting entire generations dancing, thanks to musical anthems such as: “Esta pegao”, “El tiburón”, “25 Horas”, “Another Night”, “Brinca”, “El grillero” and many more that are part of the group’s extensive repertoire.
